Fight the Good Fight

by Lynesha McElveen

Sometimes we all get tired as we embark on this journey of life.  Whether you are a stay at home parent investing in your children, ambitiously driven in your career, building a lucrative business, or just striving to be the best you can, we get tired.  While we all get tired, the key is to fight the good fight and push through to the other side.

I often tell myself this when I have one of those days where life just seems extra challenging.  You know those days where things aren’t working out according to your little plan.  I have to remind myself that what I am doing 1, is not about me, and 2, much bigger than me.  I also have to recognize that whatever desire I have to achieve was placed in me, and I have been equipped with everything I need to be successful.

We all have been equipped with what we need.  Sometimes it’s just a matter of tapping into it.  Sometimes it takes hearing it from someone else.  A hug or smile from your child, a pat on the back at work, or a kind word from a friend can make all the difference in the world.  These small gestures can give us the ammunition we need to fight the good fight and let us know what we are doing has value.  But what if we don’t have someone else around to remind us?  This is when we have to get it from within ourselves.  We have to remind ourselves of what makes us unique, talented, anointed and appointed to do what we are called to do.

I hope that while we are all out there in the world grinding, pushing, and driving ourselves towards greatness we keep in mind the battle is not ours.  It has already been given to us to overcome, to achieve, and to win, and we always will as long as we don’t throw in the towel!  Just keep going!  Don’t quit!  Fight the good fight and see what is on the other side.  I am sure prize will be well worth the fight.
