Hey Divas! I recently had an event where only a few people showed up. I remember before the event saying to myself, “I don’t care who shows up, I’m gonna give them my best and have a good time.” My husband even said to me, “Whether you get 1 customer or 1,000, have fun.”

Instead of doing $$$$ in sales, we spent the evening ministering to one another on everything from marriage, to business, to faith. We spoke life into one another, encouraged one another, showed compassion and mercy, and built one another up.

I remember reflecting back to when I went to a particular church and the pastor stating how when he first started out, he would preach to chairs. You see, he committed to do what he was called to do and walk in his purpose and that meant, even if only 1 person showed up for service, he was gonna preach. And even more, if NOBODY showed up for service, he was gonna preach! He was going to fulfill the call for his life and do it in a spirit of excellence whether there were 5, 500, 5000, or 50,000!

As we spent the day with one another, I realized this event wasn’t about the event. It wasn’t about The Discount Diva Thriftique. I wasn’t about Carla’s Boutik. It wasn’t about making money, offering deals, or even women leaving the store with fabulous, shimmering outfits for the New Year. It was about us encouraging one another to stay in our purpose. That was the ONLY reason for the event.

It’s important to remember, sometimes, the meeting is not about the meeting. Sometimes, you will have days that you consider “slow” or “off” and you may feel as though you wasted your time, but I encourage you to pray and meditate and see what the purpose behind the event REALLY was. Pray to find out what the purpose behind you meeting a particular person was or why you may be going through a certain situation.  Be content in knowing that, “All things work together for your good!” Not just the good things, but the “bad,” the “uncomfortable,” the “hard to understand,” or the seemingly “unfair” ALL work together for your good and at the end of the day, you will end up right where you are SUPPOSED to be!
